I've experienced several, many deaths in my immediate family and people were kind enough to bring casseroles, pastas with bread; sustenance, because you don't want to eat, but have to to keep your strength up. No truly grieving person would want to indulge in sweets like cake. Maybe to feed to any visiting kids it would be appreciated : )
