They only appeal to a certain type of user -- ones that are intellectually capable of answering, in the mood to answer, and actually present to answer at the time of posting (or, who are in the right frame of mind if/when they find the question later).

Fluff questions will probably always generate more responses, because anyone can answer them, anytime, without too much effort.

    • i agree...and while I am fond of answering all types of questions I have found that some of the more serios questions I have asked (ex. questions on motives behind serial killings, drug policy laws etc.) get only one response if I'm lucky!

    • Is there a simple way of finding serious/intelligently written, unanswered questions, or do they just get buried in with the stupid unanswered questions? I'm not sure I have the time to find the wheat in the chaff.

    • It's hard unless you check up on certain users who you know post serious-ish questions often...Highlander is a good one for those.
