Would you play one of those old wireframed PC text oriented RPG's closely fashioned after the Dungeons & Dragons table top RPG concept? I'm playing one right now and it's totally more awesome than half the RPG's I've ever played. :D

Tell me what you're playing, I'm intrigued.

Retro games are generally pretty good by today's standards, because they looked at tabletop games and analyzed what made them successful, while today's games tend to be more based on numbers and graphics, older games tend to be focused on story and gameplay.

I personally am a fan of roguelikes, which are basically ultra-retro video games based heavily around text (though modern roguelikes such as Dungeons Of Dredmor, Tales of Maj'Eyal and GearHead often add graphics to the mix).

I've found that there are still some good modern games coming out that have story, though. I enjoyed Drakensang, though it's not always the most coherent, and there are times when it's combat heavy. Knights of the Old Republic had a good story based thing going on, though it was also a combat heavy game. Neverwinter Nights follows tabletop game rules, though it's about as close to hack'n'slash as you can get.

Baldur's Gate is always good, but by now I'm hopelessly off topic.

TL;DR: I like old games, and I think they're typically of way higher quality (or at least have more love in 'em) than newer games.
