    JAMMco... its complicated...

The consequence of sin is death.

If Adam would not have sinned, he would not have died. He would have lived forever on Earth as God had commissioned him to fill the Earth with his perfect offspring.

Death was a punishment not a reward. It wasn't until Adam sinned that death came about. It wasn't until Adams sin that God set into motion the provision for the Ransom, who was Jesus, who prepared in heaven a place for select ones to occupy as Kings and Priests and co-rulers in Gods Kingdom that would restore the Earth back to its original purpose, a Paradise like that in Eden.

It wasn't until Greek philosophers began inventing the immortal soul that the concept of everyone dying and going to heaven came about. Gods original purpose never changed, his means of bringing it about had to.

    • This is correct. Nowhere in the Bible does it mention anything about Adam ever having the prospect of going to heaven. Earth was to be his perfect and permanent home.
