In Oregon what happens when two people back into each other in a parking lot? This wasn't in my car but I do have full coverage with my insurance company. If anything, the other driver was more at fault because I was almost done backing out when he began.

Parking lots are private property, no insurance payout.

Do you mean payout if someone sues? Auto insurance does not cover collisions in parking lots? I understand about it being private property but I've read elsewhere that insurance companies do cover these things. Thanks for the info, though!

I guess it all depends on the company. I'm speaking from experience in Canada (where suing is less common than the US) but where I am insurance is no good if your on private property like a parking lot or a drag strip. I just say drag strip cause I went to one last summer and saw a Civic with no headlights smash the rear end of an S2000. There was no trunk left on that thing.
