Is it illegal for someone to surreptitiously record or film you at a job interview in Oregon w/o consent? If I get sued by a previous job?

While conducting an interview, have you ever asked, "Where do you see yourself in __ years?"

You're reading A guy just showed up for a job interview and isn't even wearing a tie. What does this indicate? At this company all male employees must wear ties, so it's kinda bad when someone walks in for an interview and isn't wearing one.

Appearance is always the first impression you get of a person, and a job interview is all about first impressions. I told him about the dress policy we have and it seemed like a pretty big deal to him.

I obviously don't know about the specifics of the situation. If the dress policy for the interview wasn't specified, then you have nothing to complain about. If he's hired, that's a different story. I'm a CEO of a small company (47 employees) I generally do the hiring for all senior positions (our company is mainly, physicians, attorneys, and engineers). If the person is the right one, I don't worry about dress. We too have a company policy, but peer's are the ones that enforce it by pulling the leg of the other guy. It never has been a big thing (even with physicians that like to dress casual).

I would never work for a company pompous and old fashioned enough to make their staff uncomfortable.

The average human evaluates on appearance. Actually even animals want the best looking for mates etc. It is silly not to dress for the job you desire. I would not hire any employee coming in for a job dressed like a slug. The world needs slugs, just not by me. I have stalls these people can clean. Very comfortable dress is allowed when cleaning stalls.
