I'd suggest the following:

PCLinuxOS - http://www.pclinuxos.com/
OpenSUSE - http://en.opensuse.org/
Ubuntu - http://www.ubuntu.com/
Kubuntu - http://www.kubuntu.org/

They're all free of charge, so there's no harm in trying them all.
