Why are some people more prone to having belly button lint than others?

If they have a lot of hair around their navel and wear shirts with fuzzy inner lining (like sweatshirts), they will accumulate more. The hair acts like a brush, and the material is easily scraped.

Less hair or a more resilient fabric will promote less accumulation.
