You're reading Did we evolve from rocks?

Uh... no, no that's not what they're teaching - that may be what you're told we are being taught, but...

Really? I know quite a few teachers, and they are required to teach the curriculum provided to them by the school board - which does not include any material about humans evolving from rocks. I'm quite certain the same sorts of curriculum is taught nationwide, and since there is no general concensus that believes humans evolved from rocks, I'm not sure why that would be included in the curriculum.

More babbling that proves your ignorance, New Member? Apparently you think ignorance is a virtue.
by AntigoneRising on July 15th, 2007
AntigoneRising, thanks for the compliments. Notice that if you go far enough back in time, how did life appear? Answer that, please. If no one can answer it, then evolution is wrong. Please tell me how life first appeared.
by New Member on July 15th, 2007
Evolution has nothing to do with how life appeared on our planet.
by Anonymous on July 15th, 2007
I did not say it is evolution, doobie. Tell me exactly where I said that.
by New Member on July 15th, 2007
You're asking for an answer to the question "how did life appear?" and saying that if noone can provide an answer, that proves evolution is wrong. Since evolution has nothing to do with how life originated, I don't see how the lack of an answer to "how did life appear?" has any bearing on whether the theory of evolution is valid or not.
by Anonymous on July 15th, 2007
I didn't mean that evolution had to do with how life originated, but whatever you say. Now tell me how life appeared.
by New Member on July 15th, 2007
There are quite a few hypotheses and models of how life could have appeared on earth. I wasn't there, so I can't say for sure that any of those models are correct. Scientists are still testing the hypotheses to determine if abiogenesis did occur on earth and resulted in the first life forms.

Ha-ha! Were those scientists there?
No.
Were you there?
No.
Was I there?
No.
Why?
by New Member on July 15th, 2007
I don't see what you're getting at. How does the origin of life have ANYTHING to do with evolution?
by Anonymous on July 15th, 2007
LMAO, a serious debate on evolution from rocks!, keep your phone line clear people, you're probably going to get a call from the Oxford Union Debating Society, they're interested in your theories!.
by mrtorch on July 15th, 2007
apparently you have reading comprehension problems, mrtorch. We weren't discussing anything remotely close to evolution from rocks.
by Anonymous on July 15th, 2007
Really? let me check............
"No, but that's what people are teaching children in school.

.........I checked and guess what doobie? I was right. Guess you have a memory problem and a reading comprehension problem;-)
by mrtorch on July 15th, 2007
Doobie, I NEVER SAID THAT EVOLVING FROM ROCKS IS PART OF EVOLUTION!!! I only said that's what they're teaching children.
by New Member on July 15th, 2007
Nobody is teaching that people evolved from rocks. They may be teaching that we evolved from apes or further back very small organisms, but there's really no possible way for anything to evolve from a rock. Nobody claims this is true, and no one teaches it in schools.
