If you are a guest at someone else's wedding you are there to celebrate their happy day. To celebrate their new life together. Their wedding is about them - it's not about you. To propose at someone else's wedding (or break the news of your proposal at someone else's wedding) is just plain rude. Instead of stealing their thunder, wait your turn and pop the question (and share your good news) on a day when the focus can be all on you and your new life together.
