    Existence has no actual opposite. "Non-existence" is fundamentally incoherent as a term, merely an artifact of our language. For if "non-existence" would BE the opposite of existence, then it would BE / EXIST, and not be non-existence at all.

    Some spiritual schools, including some Buddhist thinkers, use "non-existence" or "non-being" to refer to what potentially could be but doesn't seem to be, but that isn't really the same thing as "doesn't exist".
