    A single-layer Blu-ray disc holds 25 gigabytes (GB) of storage, which is about five times the amount of the data capacity of a standard digital video disc (4.7 GB). A dual-layer Blu-ray disc holds 50 GB, which is more than five times the amount of a dual-layer DVD (8.5 GB).
