    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

Death by hanging remains an option for prisoners on death row as an alternative to lethal injection in two states: New Hampshire and Washington. As of March 2011, Billy Bailey, hanged Jan. 25, 1996, in Delaware, was the last American to die by hanging before Delaware abolished the method.
