The meaning of life is Life. A person is not a life, but a form of life, that is, a receptacle of life from God. God is Life Itself, Being Itself, and Existence Itself. Everything else proceeds from him. We are here in freedom, to align ourselves with life, which is actual existence, which is heaven, or else against life, with is death, or hell. The nature of Life Itself, the nature of God, is characterized primarily by things like compassion, forgiveness, love, and charity, and secondarily by things like truth, humility, insight, and wisdom, (which have those former things as their principle subject). God provides every possible means for all people to following a path of life, that is, of love, forgiveness, charity, and compassion. There are paths that more specific to the way of good, and paths more specific to the way of truth, but they are all his paths for us. Those who follow these come to know their source, and therefor the meaning of life. That is, they come to know God.

But at no time is it difficult to find those who choose the way of death over the way of life. Some do this by denying any source but themselves, and thus destroying their humility, and thus their reason. Others do this by abandoning themselves to their lusts for evil, committing atrocities, and saying either "where is God to stop me" or else convincing themselves "God wills it, and will reward my attrocities".
