I believe the best way to learn how to crochet is to have someone of the elderly generations teach you. I volunteerd at a nursing home in the activities department for 4 years when I was a kid, and this elderly lady taught me. We called her Lilly Crilly. I think that being with someone of that age teaching you will also teach you patience as well as skill. I didn't have patience to learn it on my own, so if you are the same way, I think this will be the best way for you.
