Yes, I have. It's a very interesting place, the Western Wall. Each time that I've been there, the feeling has been different.

Most recently, I had the unusual privilege of visiting two famous wall in one year, the Great Wall of China (where we hiked for four days) and the Western Wall. Both are historic heritage sites, each to a different culture. Each attracts a large amount of tourists annually. The Great Wall is a relic of ancient civilization that has no real modern value (I mean it's fascinating to experience, but it serves no real purpose for China, other than tourist revenue). The Western Wall remains a focal point of the Jewish religion and, more importantly, a live portal to Heaven. Jews stream their daily because we believe it's an especially holy place. We believe that all prayers travel via that spot en route to G-d. That's why we put notes into the wall, because it's not a piece of archeology, but a live-wire spiritual link.

    It's definitely worth a visit.
