Fear of God is not a morbid fear, but the kind of fear we felt when we displeased our father as a child, its not a scary fear but a respectful loving fear.

God loved us so much that He gave his only son to die for our sin so that we could be with Him forever. Does not quite sound like an abusive partner to me. Would you allow your son to die for people that constantly denounced you, spit in your face, turned away from you, and hurt you in every way imaginable? I think not. So let's talk a little bit about his love, shall we. :)

I do not worship God because of fear; I worship Him because I love him and have respectful fear like a father. I love my earthly father, but fear him as well because if I mess up I know he will admonish me out of love as well. God will punish you if you never believe in Him and accept Jesus as your saviour. Your punishment may not be on this earth, but at judgement.

How do you choose to believe something? Surely you either do or you don't. So is this improbable christian/muslim/jewish/whatever god going to punish someone for something they don't have control over? Also answer this, if as a gay man I choose not to follow my natural feelings doesn't that mean I've had a greater struggle in life than a straight man and should get better rewards upon reaching "heaven". Don't get me wrong I think I do believe in some greater being, I'm just a little sick of people quoting from various religious tomes that were written by men to manipulate the poor ignorant masses through fear and the rather sad thought that oh it doesn't matter if you have a crap life because if you're nice you get to go to heaven. Huge pile of piffle!

No cause the bible says it is an abomination in Gods eyes, and 1 Corinthians says Homosexuals will not inherit the Kingdom Of God.Bottomline the bible says outside of Jesus you will be cast into the lake of fire.
