Yes, we confess to God. No we don't confess to the priest, but the priest acting as servant of the church and of God enables the penitent and confers absolution, assuring the penitent of GOD's forgivenesss, not his own. No, you don't need a priest to confess to God. Yes, it helps, and yes, there is relevant biblical precedent for others absolving sins in the name of Christ.
No, we don't worship Mary. What's the first commandment dealing with relationships with other people? Honour your father and your mother. Jesus honoured his mother. If it's good enough for him, it's good enough for us, so yes, we honour Mary, we ask her to pray for us, just like you might ask your Christian firends to pray for you, but we do not worship her. It's really very simple.
