    Assalamu Alaykom.

I am a born muslim from the UAE. Arabic is my native language, and I believe that I understand the Holy Quran very well. I am not boasting that I know everything in it but there are versus that are simple and clear that explains this.

First of all, Mr. borasalama, there MIGHT be some mistranslation of the versus you quoted from the Holy Quran. In the Holy Quran Surah(chapter) 3, Ayah(verse) 3, I'm quoting from Sahih International Translation. It says: "He has sent down upon you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming what was before it. And He revealed the Torah and the Gospel."

What is meant by the Torah and the Gospel is not what is in the Bible or any written scripture. Christians and Jews, nowadays, say that the Old Testament is the Torah and the New Testament is the Gospel(or injeel as you said). The Gospel and Torah in the Holy Quran means the revelation that Allah gave to Jesus and Moses(Peace Be Upon Them All), respectively. Allah didn't send a book down to earth saying that this is the Torah or this is the Gospel(injeel). Jesus(Peace Be Upon Him) when he went in his trips of healing and preaching, as the Bible says (Mathew says in his Gospel: jesus went to a certain place and preached the Gospel, Mark says: he went to another place and preached the Gospel, Luke says: he went to another place and preached the Gospel, John says: he went to another place and preached the Gospel), did not have a book under his arm and preached from it, but it was revealed to him by god. That is what we Muslims believe in, that the Torah and Gospel(injeel) are the revelations that god gave to Moses and Jesus(Peace Be Upon Them All) and not what is in the Bible.

Please don't be offended by what I said. For further information, please go to www.quran.com/3 to know more about what the quran says, and also to get the full picture. Also, note that there are many translations in this website to many languages. If you don't understand english very well, choose the language that you know best.
