hi shunyata, here in south africa before ressision it was R11,50 to $1,00 after ressision it dropped to R5,94 TO $1,00 ,the dollar is now getting stronger and has climed to R7,19 to $1,00,so i think the dollar will fight its way back, another bit of info our interest on investments at the banks was 11,50%p/a and dropped to 4.85%p/a but has now climed to 5.96%pa still a far cry from the good old 11%p/a,but i think and hope this will rise as things settle down,if ever, all the best

    • I doubt it will settle. I assume at this point the dollar will crash.
when the euro come onto the market as a new currency, it was worth 78 US cent.
      Now it is 1.40
so you used to get 78 cent for a euro
now you get $$ 1.40 for a euro.
China is buying oil from russia... and maybe getting ready to take over the us. even though, that seems far fetched.
I assume we will have riots here.... in not too long a time ahead.

    • not far fetched, who knows there has been talk of replacing the dollar as world currency, maybe the hong kong dollar, apparently they have enought gold in there vaults to bail out america, but its america we talking about, things are bad but i think and hope all gets back on track for you guys and all over the world, but its still scary and one feels you have no control or saftey with investments ect,but life goes on my friend and one must enjoy as best one can.
