Why do some people on AB answer their own questions? Surely the point of asking a question is for other people to answer it.

You're reading I feel like ab should be a forum to ask whatever you want, but I have encountered many people putting others down for asking serious questions, and that bothers me. Have you ever been made to feel bad/stupid for asking a question that was important to you

exactly. a person asked an important question about her son, and i gave a lengthy, well-thought out answer and was downrated for it. the person taking away the points didn't like the question originally asked because it wasn't in "question" format, and because of that i think she took away points. i saw the questions the girl taking away the points had asked, and they were basically pointless. it makes no sense.
