Why do they call it "plastic" surgery?

    You guys are close. The term "plastic" surgery actually comes from the word "plast" or "plasty" which, in medical terminology, means "to repair" or correct. For example, rhinoplasty (nose job), abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), etc. Hope that helps.
