Christ Jesus seems to suggest an emphasis on the office or position Jesus holds, that is, the anointed one. Historically we know that kings were anointed when they ascended the throne. In that respect, it would not be unreasonable to read Christ Jesus as King Jesus. This fits nicely with the observation that Paul usually identifies himself as an apostle (that is, one who was sent) of Christ Jesus. In other words, Paul was a royal messenger sent from the Great King. That would certainly make a statement about his own apostleship as well as the message he was bringing. Don't know how much of that was in the mind of Paul and the Holy Spirit when the words were written but it always made sense to me.
