Help answer this question below.

I have a Dell XPS 400 that has a Sigmatel High Definition Audio CODEC soundcard. Will Pro Tools M-Powered 8 work on that soundcard?

    Good question!

    In order to run pro tools m powered 8, you'll need an avid or an m - audio interface...This acts as a sound card and an interface which is compatible with use for pro tools...Also, you'll need to update the drivers on your computer at the avid website - before - you can use your interface and to begin installing pro tools hardware...If you have Vista, XP, or Windows 7, there are different drivers and pro tool recommendations for each one...So, check out the sight to see what works with what you have now...I just bought and installed a fast track pro and an m audio 8 today on my computer...It'll take a few hours (max) to do this correctly, so just read the direcions carefully, and you'll be - just fine!
