You're reading I am in an emergency response class, and we were going over suicide recently. My book claims that men would kill themselves in a more violent way than women would. So, my question is, how would you kill yourself? and are you male of female?

That's the simplest, most common thing to do to yourself to die violently in your sleep. There's also the possibility of rigging up a mace above your bed with a slipknot frozen in a block of ice.
