Okay, people are allowed to have Bibles in prison and jail. Are people of other religions allowed to have their holy books in American jails and prisons in lieu if the Bible?

    Yes. There are many Korans in the American prison system.

    Prisoners are not limited to the content of their books. The cell content is defined by the level of security and size of cell. It would be against the law to limit the choice of religious materials. If one is granted his religious book, then the others are granted theirs.
